The 2nd batch of Certificate in Banking (CB) program successfully concluded today, 13th May, 2021 with the simple certificate award ceremony. Certificate in banking program is a 2 months classroom based foundational course to provide the participants an opportunity to build foundation in fundamentals and principles of banking and non-banking. The program is also designed to broaden theoretical knowledge and skills that will take the participants to the higher level of expertise. Broadly, the program covers the following areas:
- Fundamentals and principles of banking and non-banking;
- Business development;
- Communication and customer care skills
- Numerical and accounting skills;
- Essential IT; and
- Office management.
The certificate award ceremony was graced by Honorable Dasho Governor, RMA, in presence of all the CEOs of FIs and Officials from relevant agencies.
Coinciding with certificate award ceremony, FITI also launched the “Financial Education Curriculum” and “Financial Inclusion Knowledge Product”. While Financial Education Curriculum was developed for target learners like NFE and Technical and Vocational Institutes, Financial Inclusion Knowledge Product highlights the journey of Bhutan’s experience in integrating financial literacy in mainstream school curriculum and other non-formal educational institutions.
The curriculum was developed by FITI in collaboration with Non-Formal and Continuing Education Division under Department of Adult and Higher Education (DAHE), National Institute of Zorig-Chusum and other relevant stakeholders as a part of Financial Inclusion National Action Plan (FINAP 2019-2023) activities assigned to FITI by Financial Inclusion Secretariat (FIS) under RMA. FINAP 2019-2023 is a strategic action plan developed to realize the goal of National Financial Inclusion Strategy and Financial Literacy Strategy in the country, which is a joint initiate of RMA and all the Financial Institutions in the country.
